The Calibration Department obtained its Accreditation to meet  ASTM and ISO/IEC 17025 criteria from NVLAP in Gaithersburg, Maryland. NVLAP Code: 200311-0.

The capabilities include in-house calibration of force standards as per ASTM E74 to 300,000 lbf in compression and tension, torque calibrations as per ASTM-E 2428 to 5 000 Nm (3,688 ft-lbf) clockwise and counter clockwise.

Field service capabilities include force calibrations to 1,000,000 lbf in tension and compression as per ASTM E4, torque calibrations to 5,000 Nm clockwise and counter clockwise, linear calibrations of Extensometers with readouts as per ASTM E83 and calibrations of Hardness Testers, Rockwell, Brinell and Micro as per ASTM E18, E10, E92 and E384.

All Transfer Standards are regularly calibrated and traceable to NIST and or an International recognized  Metrology Instutute,  to maintain the highest possible accuracy and guarantee an unbroken chain of traceability.

Service and Calibrations are performed by well-trained and experienced service/calibration personnel. Every member of United's staff is available to consult with clients to determine their specific testing requirements and will be able to recommend the required equipment, test or calibration procedure which is best suited to the customer's needs.
